Fregattenkapitän Hessler, Günther (Editor) |
THE U-BOAT WAR IN THE ATLANTIC |
After the war Fregattenkapitän Günter Hessler was asked by the British Admiralty to achieve a source of reference to provide a complete analysis of the German U-boat offensive in the Atlantic during World War II. Hessler had free access to the war diaries and other primary sources of the Kriegsmarine. He was assisted by Korvettevkapitän Alfred Hoschatt and Leutnant zur See Jürgen Rohwer. Originally a classified document, this book is an official reprint of the 3 original volume set containing 32 maps and diagrams: U Boat War in the Atlantic, Volume 1, 1939-1941 - U Boat War in the Atlantic, Volume 2, January 1942-May 1943 - U Boat War in the Atlantic, Volume 3, June 1943-May 1945. Both items--single book and maps/diagrams are in a slip-case and provide a wide range of references and information, obtained from German sources. Many corrections to the original text and an addenda and bibliography have been included. A superb reference work which is now out of print. For the serious historian. This item is in it's original sealed mylar package and is in mint condition. Size 218x305mm. 442 Pages. S/B. L/W. Fine Copy. London, 1989. |
